History
2008 marks the rebirth of the fastest band in the music business, the Press Tones. We’re older and wiser (we think) and we sound better than ever (perhaps).
In 1979-1980, the Press Tones were born in the basement of Jim Freeze. From basement to basement, the Press Tones finally moved to a practice space on Central Ave. in Rochester, where they survived near asphyxiation and parasites battles. Long live Buddy the dog.

Soon after, BB Lumocks, former singer and drummer for the Bowery Boys, took over as lead singer while Simon Ribas (Hit and Run, Cappy and the Frechmen) took on lead guitar.
The core Press Tones are Peter Presstone,
BB Lummocks, Simon Ribas, John Machine Gun Schwittek, and Tony Brown. Members from the past include Dave Anderson (bass and famous sound engineer), Mickey Sarubbi (Guitar), Mark Atkins (Guitar), and Jim Freeze (singer).
In 1982 the Press Tones recorded Passion or the Pain and Treat It Like A Scar which were released on Archive Records. The songs played on Scorgies Juke Box for years.
In 2008 the Press Tones quickly recorded 10 songs at Saxxon Recording and added them to a compilation CD entitled
"Not Any Older."
